DBAS Retreat Week of October 21-27, 2025
at FFA Campgrounds, Covington, Georgia
The entire group of retreaters, CNs, and Committee members gathered for a group photo ourdoors in 2025 at the Future Farmers of America campsite. Committee members are wearing dark green DBAS shirts, CNs are wearing dark grey shirts, and retreaters are wearing burgundy shirts. Two service animals are visible near the front of the group. The setting is wooded and peaceful, with tall trees showing autumn foliage and a modern lodge-style building in the background. Everyone is smiling a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The bright sunlight gives the image a cheerful daytime feel, though some faces are shaded due to the outdoor lighting.
Every two years, DeafBlind Access of the South (DBAS) provides adults who are DeafBlind—or who have combined hearing and vision loss in any degree—a unique opportunity to connect with others who share similar experiences. Participants are supported by trained Support Service Providers (SSPs) and Co-Navigators (CNs), helping facilitate communication, access, and full participation throughout the retreat.
At the DBAS Retreat, participants can create a personalized schedule of activities based on their interests and preferences. Daily activities may begin as early as 7:30 a.m. and continue until 10:00 p.m. or later, allowing each camper to enjoy the retreat at their own pace.

Transportation to and from the airport can be arranged, and transportation within the camp is provided. Camp amenities include basketball courts, Wi-Fi access, and numerous gathering spaces where participants can socialize, build friendships, and create lasting memories.
Accommodations are rustic yet comfortable. Rooms are climate-controlled, cabins are clean and well-lit, and the pathways between buildings are designed for easy navigation.
